Greenlife Ceramic Cookware Review

One thing we’ve learned from our years of culinary experience is that the wrong cookware will always hold you back.

Whether you’re rustling up a meal for your family or preparing an extravagant dinner party, inadequate kitchen utensils will slow you down and potentially impact the quality of your food.

But there’s a problem: high-quality cookware tends to be very expensive. Not everyone can afford to splash out hundreds of dollars on a cookware set, and we don’t believe you should have to.

That’s why we were so excited to hear about GreenLife’s Soft Grip Diamond Ceramic Cookware! This 14-piece set of quality, ergonomic ceramic cookware from one of the leading non-stick cookware brands in the U.S. promises to make your cooking life easier, safer, and more environmentally friendly - and all for a relatively affordable price!

In this article, we’ll be reviewing each component of the GreenLife ceramic cookware set individually and discussing the positives and negatives of the set as a whole.

All About GreenLife

We absolutely love what GreenLife stands for, so we thought we’d start off this review by sharing some background information about the company.

GreenLife was founded in 2013 as an extension of The Cookware Company. GreenLife is committed to making healthy cooking accessible to everyone which, here at Feed Family for Less, we really appreciate.

GreenLife was also the first company to introduce PFOA, PFAS, Cadmium, and Lead-free nonstick coatings to the cookware market in the form of Thermalon™, making simultaneously effortless and safe cooking a possibility for the first time.

So, without further ado, let’s get into the review!

Greenlife Ceramic Cookware Buying Guide

Main Features

Non-Stick Open Frypans

GreenLife’s Soft Grip Diamond Ceramic Cookware Set contains 2 open frypans: a 7-inch and a 9.5-inch.

The 9.5-inch pan is within the standard size range for frying pans, while the 7-inch is slightly on the smaller side.

We like the modest, yet significant size difference between these pans because it allows for some spatial and portion-sizing flexibility in the kitchen without venturing into restrictively small or unnecessarily large territory.

However, sizing is far from the only thing we love about GreenLife’s frypans. Their non-stick, non-toxic properties and ergonomic design (also features of the other components of this set) are what really sold us.

All components of this cookware set apart from the utensils (see below) are made from the environmentally friendly choice of recycled aluminum and coated with GreenLife’s trademarked sand-based Thermalon coating. The Thermalon coating is diamond-reinforced for extra strength and durability.

However, some customers have unfortunately reported the coating chipping away and losing its non-stick quality after repeated use. Other customers, however, have been served well by this cookware set for a long time as a result of diligent cooking and cleaning practices.

As we mentioned earlier, this coating is free from PFAS, PFOA, cadmium, and lead. The absence of these substances in the construction of the frypans, and the cookware set as a whole, reduces carbon dioxide emissions by 60% for a healthier and safer cooking experience.

Another feature of the GreenLife non-stick open frypans which is also applicable to the rest of the cookware set is that they have been designed for optimal ease of use.

This is partly due to the soft grip Bakelite handles which fit ergonomically in the user’s hand and are designed not to absorb heat while on the stovetop, making them easier and safer to handle.

Meanwhile, the wobble-free base helps to keep the pans stable during cooking, reducing the risk of spillage, and ensuring even distribution of heat.

Additionally, these frypans and the other pots and pans in this cookware set are dishwasher safe and oven safe up to temperatures of 350℉.

The cleaning process is facilitated not only by the non-stick interior but also the rivetless interior construction which prevents food from collecting in hard-to-reach crevices.

Non-Stick Covered Saucepans

For when you’re cooking liquid-based dishes that require a little simmering, GreenLife has provided a pair of non-stick covered saucepans.

The saucepans come in 2 different sizes: 1.2 quarts and 2.2 quarts. Similar to the sizing of the frypans, the 1.2-quart saucepan is a smaller model while the 2.2-quart pan is a medium size.

Therefore, these saucepans should see you through cooking for anywhere from 1 or 2 people to a small group. For larger groups of people, however, these pans may not be sufficient.

As with the frypans reviewed above, the covered saucepans are coated with GreenLife’s non-stick, non-toxic, sand-based Termalon, so you can be confident in the knowledge that your food will be free of contaminants.

The ergonomic handle design and wobble-free base featured on the frypans can also be found on these saucepans for the easiest possible meal preparation.

The lids are made of glass which allows the cook to effortlessly monitor the cooking process. Glass is also an ideal lid material for cooking pots and pans because it’s so easy to clean!

Non-Stick Covered Stockpot

GreenLife has included an extremely versatile piece of cooking equipment in the Soft Grip Diamond Ceramic Cookware Set in the form of the non-stick covered stockpot.

This stockpot will hold up to 5 quarts. This is less than the average stockpot, which tends to start at around 8 quarts. However, 5 quarts is still enough to make up to 10 healthy portions of soup or stew, for example, so the smaller size doesn’t mean you’ll go hungry by any means!

Once again, GreenLife’s Thermalon coating has been incorporated into the stockpot to guarantee cleaner cooking.

This stockpot features 2 handles, 1 on each side, for a comfortable and balanced grip and effortless handling.

The glass lid, meanwhile, is very similar to those included with the covered saucepans and ensures that you can easily keep an eye on your food without having to remove the lid and let heat escape.

Non-Stick Covered Skillet

If you work with a lot of recipes and dishes that call for sautéing, don’t worry - GreenLife hasn’t forgotten about you!

The non-stick covered skillet or sauté pan included with this cookware set is perfect for browning, frying, and searing, and other forms of high-heat cooking. Whether it’s a juicy steak or a veggie stir fry, this skillet is sure to produce delicious results.

The skillet holds 2.6 quarts which, following the sizing trend with this cookware set, is slightly smaller than the average size range for skillets and sauté pans by about half a quart. However, it is still large enough to cook sizeable portions of food comfortably.

Of course, the inside of the skillet is coated with Thermalon, so you won’t have to worry about any toxic emissions or chemical contamination while using it.

Once again, a transparent glass lid has been included to retain heat inside the skillet while enabling easy monitoring and cleaning.

Thanks to the Bakelite handle, which matches those on the frypans and saucepans, you’ll be able to handle this skillet without any awkwardness or discomfort.

Additional Features

Utensils

4 nylon utensils are included with GreenLife’s ceramic cookware set. These utensils include 2 slotted spatulas of different shapes, a slotted spoon, and a ladle.

This is a great set of utensils to include with a cookware set because it features most of the basic essentials, so whether your next planned dish is soup, omelet, or pasta, you can make it with your new GreenLife cookware set, straight out of the box!

Also, because these utensils are made of nylon, they won’t scratch the non-stick surfaces of the cookware, so they’re excellent for ensuring longevity.

Final Thoughts

Having looked at each component individually and assessed this cookware set as a whole, we can confirm that we highly GreenLife’s Soft Grip Diamond Ceramic Cookware!

This cookware set will help you to get as much enjoyment from cooking for your family as possible thanks to the ergonomically designed handles and bases and easy-to-clean, non-stick surfaces.

It will also grant you complete peace of mind knowing that your food and cooking environment is safer from harmful chemicals and gases.

The only words of caution we would impart is that the pots and pans are all small to medium in size, so they may not be appropriate for cooking large dishes for bigger families.

Additionally, some customers have reported the non-stick coating chipping away and becoming less non-stick with repeated use.

Of course, this is not ideal, but considering the affordable price point, ergonomics, and health benefits of this cookware, we still feel that this set is a worthwhile investment.

Moreover, if you are prepared to invest a little extra care into the maintenance of these pots and pans (eg. only using wooden, nylon, or silicone utensils and using non-abrasive sponges for cleaning) customer testimonials indicate that they can last a decent amount of time.
